HOW TO VOLUNTEER

1. Go to http://www.getinvolvedineducation.com/volunteers/application.htm and fill out the Broward County School Board (BCSB) application form online.

2. Click on link to Complete the online VSY Volunteer Form 2010-2011. or Fill out and return completed paper form to the VSY main office through your child's folder, Attention: Renee' Richter, Volunteer Coordinator.

3. Go to http://www.vsyschool.com to learn about the three VSY parent groups. Click on "SAC/SAF/PTA" to determine if participation in the VSY Parent Teacher Association (PTA), the School Advisory Forum (SAF), and/or the School Advisory Council (SAC) is right for you. These groups include parents, teachers, administrators, business partners, and community members. Membership or participation in any or all of these parent groups is encouraged.

4. Attend Volunteer/Partner Orientation and Room Parent Training (mandatory): Tues., Sept. 14th, 9:00 A.M., VSY Media Center. If you are unable to attend, please notify Renee Richter, Volunteer Coordinator.

5. While volunteering at school, your hours will be automatically recorded when you check in and check out at the front office. However, all hours not recorded by the Star system must be logged by you on the Volunteer Activity Log Sheet.
